I’m a huge fan of Banksy. Not joking. I took a street art / pub crawl tour of East London back in 2014 and I pulled the guide aside and asked him if he knew who Banksy was….and he said yes he’s known him for years. I never once asked him who he was or anything too personal. Just asked what kind of person he was. Just…wanted to make sure I didn’t love a monster. And he said he was a nice and shy person. The desire to know who someone is that doesn’t want to be known is insane. He’s just making dope art and commenting on our society. Let the man do art in peace. My God. It’s bad enough his shit is so popular that the 1% remove walls to own his art.
To date, still one of my biggest dreams is to see a Banksy in the wild on a wall… I will cry. I know that much.
We don’t need to keep making up new terms….this is just emotional cheating. Which is cheating. So….
Did he try to get one of his illiterate kids into Harvard and they said no? Is that what this obsession is all about? Did he try to get a building named after him and they said nah? Like, what is it?
Never want to see my hometown to be in the news like this.
